I was going to edit Raphael and Adele's pages. I just wanted to make sure, if I were to add Raphael to Adele's friends list, and were to write "One sided on Adele's part" does that mean only Adele thinks they're friends?

Speaking of friends, should I also add Gracie to Raphael's friends list?

If I understand what you're saying correctly, yeah, I think that would work, theoretically. I don't have MySims PC anymore, though, since I switched to a new computer, so I don't have any essence codes. Sorry. :o

I haven't messed with MySims PC in a long while, but uh...from what I remember, first, you should right-click the file and select Properties, then uncheck the box that says "read-only" under Attributes and apply the change. Afterwards, right-click the file again and hover over to "Open with...", and choose Notepad.
As for not seeing the essence codes in the file, you more than likely missed them. Try using CTRL + F. I'd recommend you back-up the file beforehand in case you make a mistake.

You're looking at the wrong playerRecord file. That's the one in your Program Files, which is not linked to your save file. The one you should be modifying is in the SaveData1/2/3 folder under My Documents > Electronic Arts > MySims. Sorry if this is confusing.
